Lori Huerta

Lori Jean Huerta, 56 of Battle Creek, MI passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones and her two daughters were by her side.

Lori was born in Battle Creek, MI to Amado Huerta and Hortensia Sanchez on September 8th, 1968. She went to high school at Battle Creek Central and graduated in 1986. She worked most of her life doing clerical work with companies such as Kellogg, Toyota, and R & L carriers. She enjoyed being outside, gardening, and making sure her yard was beautiful. What she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her grandkids.

Lori is survived by her two daughters Ashley Bowen of Battle Creek and Jenise Hooper of Battle Creek, Son; Maison Jenkins of Battle Creek, Siblings; Rudy Huerta, Irene Fulkerson, Dolores Geleff, and John Huerta, Grandchildren; Renay Nolan, Keylei Scott, Keyshawn Thaxter, Harmoney Hughes, Justus Nolan, Keyarah Gibson, and Kanin Hughes and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Mark Hooper, Parents; Amado Huerta and Hortensia Sanchez, Son; Blake Hooper, and Grandson Keyvon Scott.

Lori’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life is to be determined by family and will be shared via Facebook. Donations for the celebration of life are being accepted via GoFundMe shared on her Facebook page Lorijean Huerta.

Lori Jean Huerta (LJ) was always the life of any party. She left her mark on anyone she came across. To know her was an honor. Her voice was always the loudest in any room and the laughs and smiles on everyone’s faces were because of her. She will forever be missed by so many people. May she rest in peace.
