Margaret “Peg” Lillian Prickett

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret “Peg” Lillian Prickett announce her passing into the arms of Jesus at Northpointe Woods on August 30, 2023.  Peg was born on May 4, 1921 in Battle Creek to Julia Ester Gonzalez and John Torres who both preceded her in death.  While attending Battle Creek Central High School she was employed by the Battle Creek Sanitarium as a hostess.  She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1940.  Peg was employed by the Kellogg Company as a assembly line worker for a few years before attending Wright’s Beauty Academy.  After graduating from Wright’s, she was employed at Diane Beauty Salon for over 20 years.  Her older sister, Rosemary Baas was the owner of the salon where other family members were employed.  Peg was voted Woman of the Year in 1981, as a member of the American Business Women’s Association.  She was married to William Hiborn who preceded her in death.  She married Horace Prickett July 1970, who preceded her in death in 1993.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Baas, brothers, Eddie and Carl Torres.  She resided at NorthPointe Woods in Battle Creek for 16 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Surviving are her daughters; Susan (Richard) Clute and Kathy Urech, brother; Robert (Hilda) Torres, grandchildren; Jeffrey Clute, Jennifer (Chrystian) Torres, Ryan(Danielle) Urech, Brandon (Tabatha) Urech, great grandchildren; Ashley (Mike) Schoka, Alexis Torres, Chrystian Torres Jr., Benjamin Clute, Nathaniel Clute, Katherine Urech, Jack Urech, George Urech, Harrison Urech, Vivianne Urech, Great Great grandson, Brooks Schoka, and many nieces and nephews.  Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.  Private inurnment will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
