Mary Leslie Silkworth

Mary Leslie Silkworth, age 76, passed on March 29^th, 2023 at Majestic Care of Battle Creek. She was born on May 5^th, 1946 to Cyrus M. and Thelma G. (Fuller) Silkworth Sr. She grew up on Eaton St. in Ceresco, MI where she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. As a young woman, she moved in with her sister and brother-in-law to help with their growing family.

She was employed at Progressive Dynamics, S and E Cordage, and Sams Club. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed taking care of her beloved dogs. She was married to Duane Zimmerman in 1966, Timothy Grable in 1968 and Gerald Lieberman in 1979, all ending in divorce.

She is survived by brothers Jerry A. Gates of Fort Oglethorpe GA, Frank E. Silkworth of Battle Creek and Archie B. (Valerie) Silkworth of Augusta, MI, sister-in-law Linda M. Silkworth of Battle Creek. Children, Robert F. Grable of Kalamazoo, Leslie A. (Bryan) Eaton of Battle Creek and Rebecca L. Scherer of Springfield MI. Grandchildren, Michael R. (Nicole) Eaton, Randi L. Fisher (Marino Flores), Ashley M. Greenleaf and Mary K. Scherer. Great grandchildren, Preston M. Boarts, Mackenzie N. Eaton, Nina A., Nino B., Naomi E., and Nani C. Flores. Special friends, Kim and Tim Robbins, Jessica and Joshua Davis, and James and Jarod Robbins and Richard Goodwin II. She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings Charles G. Gates, Eva “Joan” (Junior) Shreve, and Cyrus M. (Pete) Silkworth Jr. Nephews and niece Jerry Gates Jr., William, Charles and Tammy Shreve, Elmer Gates and great granddaughter Maddison A. Fisher.

The Rite of Christian burial will be at St. Philip Catholic Church on April 11^th, 2023 at 11 a.m. The family will be present at 10 a.m. to receive guests. Interment of cremains to follow at a later date.
