Michael Duane McGinn

Michael Duane McGinn, 58, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at The Laurels of Kent in Lowell Michigan. Mike was born March 24, 1965, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Harley and Phyllis (Hosack) McGinn. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He also enjoyed playing cards, online video games, shooting pool and darts, ATV and snowmobile riding, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He had a very special love for 80’s, 90’s and early 2000 rock music. Mike graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1983. He was employed at Interbake Foods in Springfield, MI until a motorcycle accident in 1986. He was also very skilled at carpentry. Although he was never married, Mike had two very special women in his life that he spent many years with, and they both loved him very much. Mike is survived by his father Harley D. and stepmother of 46 years Michelle McGinn of Battle Creek, sister Carol Tallent of Springfield, brother Darin McGinn of Battle Creek, nephews Kenny and Curtis (Delaney) Tallent of Springfield, and great niece and nephew Emmalynn and Jack Tallent of Springfield, as well aunts, uncles and many cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis (Hosack) McGinn, brother Faron McGinn, maternal grandparents William & Hila (Bell) Hosack, paternal grandparents Harley A. & Evelyn (Glynn) McGinn, and brother-in-law Kenneth Tallent.  Mike will always be remembered for his charisma and charm, his ability to make anyone laugh or smile, his love of rock and roll, and his loyalty to family and friends. He is missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
