Mindy Drogus

Mindy Lee Drogus, 70 of Battle Creek Michigan passed away peacefully at her home with her loved ones by her side on June 19th 2026 after a hard fought battle with Cancer.

Mindy was born on July 4th 1955 in Denver Colorado and later moved to Battle Creek at a young age. She attended Lakeview Public Schools where she would later acquire her GED.

Mindy met Rex in 1986 and began dating shortly after, they were married on May 6th 1988 and have continued to show their love and dedication for one another for 38 years.(lots of grey hairs to prove it)

Mindy retired after working 20 years as a Battle Creek Public Schools Bus driver, she also served 20 years as a part time printing press operator at Benjamin press in between her daily bus routes. Aside from spending time with family and friends, Mindy enjoyed crocheting, she often times made blankets for family and friends, as well as herself and her husband(So Many Blankets).. Mindy enjoyed camping and even fishing, as well as enjoying the wind in her hair on regular motorcycle rides and spent many years as a member at the CWB camp ground where she often times found her self taking a dip in the hot tub late at night with friends.

Mindy was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Pet Mom and Friend to many.

Mindy was preceded in death by her mother Nancy Ryan(Faga) and Sister Cheri Hammond.

Mindy is survived by her husband Rex Drogus of Battle Creek, sisters Nanci ”Bunny” Cobb of North Charleston SC and Carla Herwarth of South Bend IN, sons Marty Bechman and Robert(Kelly) Augustine of Battle Creek and Grandchildren Mason Bartlett, Bryce Augustine, & Aubree Augustine, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear to her extended family members.

There will be a gathering scheduled at a later date for family and close friends.
