Nathaniel "Nate" S. Wenger

Nathaniel Sean Wenger age 16, born on October 30, 2008 to Terra Tidwell and Mark Wenger in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025. Nathaniel was a sophomore (10th grader) at Maple Valley High School class of 2027, Vermontville, Michigan. Nathaniel was involved in Track, Football and loved camping and learning science or being in nature. Nathaniel enjoyed attending NASA space camp in Huntsville, Alabama graduating in 2019 studying to be an Astro botanist. Astrobotany is a wonderful new science that explores vegetation in space. Nathaniel wanted to join the military following in his grandfathers and father’s footsteps. Nathaniel was learning Latin in school. He had a loving and caring soul. He sat with younger kids on the bus teaching them how to filter pictures on his phone. He helped out other teens any time he could. He was an avid animal lover, who often would snuggle his support cat Browser. Nathaniel spent many years as a member of the Scouts and Awana church groups. The Maple Valley community mourns the loss of such a bright impacting soul. Nathaniel leaves behind a large loving family including his mother Terra Tidwell of Battle Creek MI, father Mark Wenger of Vermontville MI, brother Joshua ( Amber) Wenger of Vermontville MI, sister Sarah Wenger of Vermontville MI, sister Brandie (Andrew) Belen of Charlotte MI, sister Bethany Williams of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, sister Anneliese Hacker of Bellevue MI, sister April Simmons of Wilmington North Carolina, grandfather Robert Wenger of Battle Creek MI, grandfather Coles Elliott of Battle Creek, MI. and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sandy Wenger of Battle Creek MI. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Central Christian Church, 713 Riverside Dr, Battle Creek, MI. Following the interment, a Celebration of life will be held the church.
