Lollie passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. She is survived by her daughters, Monica (Dave) DeBrot and Tanya Raab, along with her best friend, Sara “Squeek” (Don) Dornan and sister, Doreen “Dee” Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Bruce Birdsong, in 2019.

Lollie worked at the Galesburg-Augusta High School, first as a Special Education Aide and then as an Attendance Officer. She was well known for building trusted connections with students and offering her support as they navigated the ups and downs of high school.

In her earlier years, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and canning the harvests from the spacious gardens she and Bruce planted every summer.

According to Lollie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
