Paul Tice, Jr.

Paul F. Tice, Jr, Age 92, Of Battle Creek, On December 23, 2011, Paul F. Tice Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Paul was born on May 13, 1919 to Paul F. Sr. and Madge (Sprague) Tice in Battle Creek.  He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1937.  Paul served in WWII from 1941 to 1945, first in Algiers North Africa at Gen. Eisenhower’s headquarters as a clerk in the signal corps and intelligence.  After a furlough, he served in Caserta Italy for two more years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.  On April 5, 1942 he was married to the former Doris Juckett who survives.  He was employed as sales manager at Columbia Metal Service for 33 years until his retirement in 1986. Paul was a charter member of the South Side Bible church where he held many positions from Sunday School teacher, song leader to Elder. Paul’s life was all about loving God and his family and serving the church.  He loved to sing and had a beautiful tenor voice.  Paul was well known and loved throughout the city and was greatly respected for the way he lived his life and served others.  He will be greatly missed.  Surviving are children, James (Nancy) Tice of Indianapolis, IN, Joy (Larry) Allen of Battle Creek, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Theola Jones of Battle Creek.  Preceding him in death was a son, Ronald Wayne Tice in 1962; brothers, Richard Tice in 2006 and Wayne Tice in 2011.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm at South Side Bible Church, 4515 Beckley Rd.  Funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist church 1625 Capital Ave N.E. at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday December 28, 2011, with Pastor Michael R. Brown officiating.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to South Side Bible Church. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
