Paula Jo (Hutchins) Beller, 80, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Paula was born on February 25, 1946 in Marshall to Joe and Pauline (Egolf) Hutchins. She grew up in Marshall, working at her parents’ restaurant, Hutchins’ Cafe, where she met her future husband of 55 years. She was a 1964 graduate of Marshall High School, going on to earn her beautician license from Ferrari School of Cosmetology.
She married her high school sweetheart Robert C. Beller, Jr. on May 27, 1966 and together they built the family of their dreams. Paula and Bob loved to dance, travel, play cards with friends, spend time with family and shared an entrepreneurial spirit. Together they owned several businesses, including Beller’s Place, Beller’s Dixie Market, and Beller’s Upton Avenue Market. After retiring from owning family businesses, Paula pursued a career with Home Interiors and Gifts where she thrived empowering women and expanding her passion for interior design.
Paula served as the Treasurer, Vice President and later the President of her church.
Paula is survived by her daughters Raquel Beller (Brandon) and Danielle Beller (Richard); grandchildren CieAira Beller (Corey) and Matthew Willmon (Lauryn); sister Barbara Martin; sister-in-law Michelle Rauch; many nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and daughter Kimberly Beller.
Paula’s passions included her family, friends, traveling, music, gardening, and nearly everything creative. She enjoyed being a room parent in her children’s classrooms, leading their Bluebird groups and Camp Fire Girl group. She fundraised for Team In Training, an organization committed to the research for Lymphoma and Leukemia. As the culmination of the fundraising efforts, she proudly completed the 1994 Honolulu Marathon.
Her family and friends will remember her as a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. She was kind and eager to lend a hand. She was an honorary mother/aunt/sister to anyone whose heart was in need of nurturing. Her wit and humor would often take you by surprise. She was patient, fiercely loyal, smart and resilient. She was committed to her spirituality and becoming the best version of herself.
She will be missed, always.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at 5:30pm at Richard A. Henry’s Funeral Home. In honor of Paula’s love for gardens, flowers can be sent to Richard A. Henry’s Funeral Home.
