Pauline L. Reed, 93, of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Paul and Mary (Shafe) Godde on September 9, 1931. Pauline graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1950. She married James “Jim” Reed in 1950 and they enjoyed 72 memorable years together. He preceded her in death in 2022. Pauline had many hobbies, including reading, watching her morning and evening game shows, doing word search puzzles, putting hundreds of puzzles together, playing Yahtzee with her family and Cribbage with her sons. A recent highlight for her was regrouping with some of her high school classmates for a monthly luncheon. She enjoyed living at Fine Lake and had many wonderful neighbors who always looked in on her. She also enjoyed feeding peanuts to her pet Chipmunk, “Chippie”. Pauline is survived by her sons: Doug (Chris) Reed and Dave (Roz) Reed both of Battle Creek. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Jewell, who recently turned 98! She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and an infant daughter. Pauline was a kind soul to all who met her and loved meeting and talking with people. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Rev. James Gysel officiating.
