Penny Victoria Randall

Penny Victoria Randall, born April 25, 1948, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away May 3, 2025, peacefully. Penny worked hard her whole life. She knew from a very young age that she was going to be a nurse. She took all the right classes and often shared with us what she had learned in school. Penny graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1966. She completed her Nursing degree in three years and graduated from Bronson Nursing School in 1969. She immediately went to work in the hospital on the night shift as a charge nurse.

Penny went to Syracuse in the late 1970s to become a Nurse Practitioner. Her first assignment was in the Fort Custer area running an urgent care center.

She worked at a variety of nursing assignments over the years in both Kalamazoo and Battle Creek even serving as the administrator at one of the Battle Creek hospitals in the ER. She worked as a traveling hospice nurse as well before buying a house in Marshall and converting it into a care center for elderly patients. She had both day only and full-time patients. After a few years of this she shut down her business due to health and back issues and retired.

Penny enjoyed antiques and worked to refinish and restore several pieces over the years. She loved dogs and cats both and had several of each at times. She loved spending time with friends and her family too. She traveled to several different island vacation spots and to northern California.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents. Ernest Randall and Betty (Noel) Randall. She is survived by her sister Sue Wright of Climax, Michigan and brother Dan (Angie) Randall of Elburn, Illinois. Also survived by her nieces Kaci Randall of Elburn, Illinois, and Stacie (Sean) Forward of Richland who spent a great deal of time with her over the years and especially toward the end. A nephew Kyle (Donna) Wright of Indiana, great nephews Dallas (Brittany) Gillum and Kameron Wright, and great nieces Brooke Gillum and Kelcie Wright and great-great niece Ny’Leah. She is also survived by her very best friend from middle school Marcia Lole of Royal Oak, Michigan. Marcia has been a great and steady friend for nearly all of Penny’s life. She will also be missed by her friends from her apartment complex in Battle Creek, Kevin and Debbie Davenport. They were her best friend neighbors and spent nearly every day visiting Penny at The Oaks. She is also survived by her special buddy Glenn Miller of Alabama.

At this time there will be no services, but a memorial will be planned when it can be arranged. In lieu of flowers if you wish to please donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in her name.
