Petty Office First Class Elijah D. Young, age 24, of White Pigeon, Michigan died on September 13, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on January 21, 2001, in Buffalo, New York, the son of Mark and Marjorie (Goodwin) Young. Elijah moved with his family from Buffalo, New York to White Pigeon, Michigan. He graduated in 2019 from White Pigeon High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in which he was a sailor on the submarine USS Pasadena. At the time of his passing Elijah had served in the United States Navy for over six years. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord, the United States Navy and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Elijah was a member at Whole Life Church in Sturgis, Michigan, Christian Motorcyclist Association, and the Bills Mafia (Buffalo Bills Fan Club). Elijah was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Marcia Young. He is survived by his parents; Mark and Marjorie Young of White Pigeon, MI., siblings; Mark (Darzhuan) Young Jr. and Jacob Young, both of Norfolk, VA., Ezekiel Young of White Pigeon, MI., Sarah (David) Zabel of Bronson, MI., Rebekah (Gage) Burkey, Caleb and Levi Young, all of White Pigeon, MI. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 713 Riverside Drive, Battle Creek, Michigan where funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow the funeral service at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
