Phyllis lived an extraordinary life grounded in love and faith. She dedicated herself to creating a warm and nurturing home for her loved ones. As a homemaker, she poured her heart into caring for her family and creating fond memories together. Phyllis's impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail made everyone feel welcome in her home.

In addition to her role as a homemaker, Phyllis also had a passion for supporting others through her secretarial work. She was an invaluable asset during her time at Clark Equipment Company and the jewelry store in downtown Battle Creek. Outside of work and church commitments, Phyllis pursued various hobbies and interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an avid square dancer and proudly belonged to the Sing a Diddie Square Dancers group. Camping trips allowed Phyllis to reconnect with nature and create lasting memories with loved ones. Her artistic talents shone through watercolor paintings that captured the beauty of the world around her. Phyllis also enjoyed challenging herself with puzzles that showcased her sharp mind. Her love for learning led her to engage in Bible Study sessions that deepened her spiritual understanding.

Phyllis cherished moments spent with her parents, her beloved husband, Russell Fruin, and their sons Steven, Charlie and David. Her warm and loving nature extended far beyond her immediate family.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and William Charles, her son, Steven Fruin and her grandson, Nathan Fruin. Phyllis is survived by her devoted sons Charlie (Linda) Fruin and David (Kimberly) Fruin. She will be deeply missed by her brother William (Dorine) Charles, her nieces and nephews and her grandchildren Chris (Grace) Fruin, Sarah (Sam) Anderson, and Alex Fruin. Phyllis's step-grandchildren Heather Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, and Haley Mitchell also held a cherished place in her heart. Her legacy continues in the lives of her three great-grandchildren.
