Robert Jason Olcheske

Robert J. Olcheske, age 47, of Vicksburg and formerly of Athens, recently passed away at his residence.  He was born on June 27, 1975 in Battle Creek, MI.  He is the son of Robert and Linda (Johnson) Olcheske-Carney and graduated from Athens High School in 1993.  He was previously employed by Summit Polymers, Inc. in Vicksburg for several years.  Robert enjoyed playing disc golf and video games and helped to raise three stepsons Tarncie, Brandon and Ethan with ex-wife Mary (Bailey) Olcheske.  He had a great love for animals which included a pet duck named “Bob” and his companion dog “Belle”.  Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Olcheske in 2006 and also his grandparents.  Surviving are his mother, Linda Carney of Union City, MI,  sisters; Amanda Frederick of Mason, MI and Freida (Joseph) Michilizzi of Athens, MI, nephew, Tony (Alexandria) Olcheske and a great nephew, Lincoln Olcheske, of Gainesville, FL.  Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek.  Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at North Athens Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Behr officiating, with a meal to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to the Kalamazoo County Animal Shelter.  Remembrances and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
