Robert W. Taylor

Robert (Bob) W. Taylor, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away on April 9, 2023, at his residence.  He was born on July 18, 1949, in Manila, AR., the son of Lawrence and Betty (Slaughter) Taylor.  Robert attended Lakeview High School and was a lifelong area resident.  He previously worked at Johnson Agricultural Systems in Marshall, and for the City of Battle Creek as a seasonal employee.  He was a member of REACT CB Radio Club.  Robert enjoyed working on cars and was especially fond of classic cars.  He was a collector of POW and Vietnam memorabilia.  He enjoyed buying scratch off lottery tickets and enjoyed playing on his cell phone.  Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage on May 3, 1971, to Arla Thompson, she survives.  Also surviving are his children; Tabatha and Melton Gibson, Amanda and Brian Bryant, both of Battle Creek, brother; Jeffrey Taylor of Battle Creek, grandchildren; Robert Colorado, and Melton Anthony, six great grandchildren, his companion dog, Cinnamon and close family friend Rich Simpson.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in-law, his grandson, Dennis William, a brother and sister.  Funeral service scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place at Sherwood Cemetery.
