Larry Wohlscheid, age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 25, 2025, at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, MI.
Larry was married to Phyllis (Symons) Wohlscheid on October 25, 1974. They shared 50 years of marriage together.
Larry joined and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy in 1950. He was an avid motorcyclist and daredevil. He performed as “Crazy Larry” with the Hell Drivers Thrill Show.
He owned a motorcycle shop in Battle Creek, Mi, for several years. He worked in the sheet metal trade and retired from Shouldice Bros in 1991.
Larry loved to hunt and fish and turned his love for fishing into a charter business called “Crazy Larry’s Charters” in South Haven, MI.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Sylvester and Viola V. (Blough)Wohlscheid; a brother, John Wohlscheid; sisters, Ruth Newton, Joanne Howard, Pat (Cranson) Temcoff and three children, Lori, Kim and Tim Wohlscheid.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a son, Michael Wohlscheid, special nephew and friend, Tony Newton; stepdaughters, Sheryl Bauman and Roxanne Harris; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In honor of his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date for immediate family.
