Sharon Ann Potter, age 76, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She was born on September 30, 1949, in Battle Creek to Herman Eugene Squires and Joyce Irene (Hadwin) Squires.
Sharon attended Lakeview High School and spent her life as a devoted member of the Battle Creek community. On August 6, 1988, she married David Scott Potter, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Eugene Squires; and her stepdaughter, Shannon Marie Potter.
Sharon treasured time spent with her family. She enjoyed playing croquet, card and board games such as Aggravation, Uno, and Spades, attending family reunions, and going on camping trips. She loved traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, visiting her daughter in Florida, shopping, caring for her yard, reading Danielle Steele novels, and watching classic television programs including Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Lee (Katherine) Squires; her sister, Diane Kay (James) Goodale; her children, Ricky Eugene (Angela) Squires, Robby Allen (Deborah) Potter, Darshan Joyce (Derek) Williamson, and Amanda Kay (James) Brown; her twelve grandchildren, Kayla Christine (Jake) Smith, McKenna RaeLynn Squires, Delaney Paige Squires, Lauren Olivia Squires, Esperanza Graciela Sanchez, Stefanie Rose‑Marie (James) White, Angie Lee‑Ann Owen, Robert Scott (Gabriella) Potter, William Allen Potter, Kelsey Ann (Derek) Link, Ryan James McCloskey, and Tegan Scott Potter; eight great‑grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Rosie.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Rob Potter and dropped off in the designated box at the funeral.
