Sharon Shimmin

Sharon Rose Shimmin, 74 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born April 29, 1946 in Libertyville, Illinois and grew up in the Chicago suburbs. Sharon was preceded in death by her father Bernard Shimmin in 1993 and her older sister Cindy Pendelton in 2003. She is survived by her 95-year-old mother Betty Shimmin; two younger sisters: Jackie Forbes of Vandalia, Illinois and Bernardine (Jeff) Stillman of Bloomington, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon retired in 2012 and moved to Battle Creek, Michigan after working for Battenfeld Corporation, an injection molding machine company in the plastics industry for 35 years. Prior to moving to Battle Creek she had lived in Rhode Island for 22 years. Per Sharon’s request there will be no services and memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence or Village Bible Church in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
