Sherrill Lynne Lower, 68, of Prudenville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Charlotte, Michigan.
Sherrill was born on June 3, 1957, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Wanda and Merrill Abbott. She attended Kathleen High School and graduated in 1975. Over the years, she worked in advertising for several newspapers before later joining her husband on the road as a truck driver, traveling throughout the United States and collecting stories wherever she went.
Sherrill had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. She loved sewing, thrifting, fishing, watching sitcoms, and—most of all—spending time with her family. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit joyful, and her strength unwavering.
She is survived by her loving husband, Glen Lower, of Prudenville, Michigan; her daughters, Sarah Lindsey and Laura Elizabeth; and her six cherished grandchildren: Kierstin, Emilie, Jessica, Thomas, Everett, and Hazel. She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Abbott, of Lakeland, Florida, and her siblings, Ronnie, Gary, Rhonda, and Brenda. She was preceded in death by her father, Merrill J. Abbott, and her brother, Dennis.
A burial service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan, on February 12, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
Sherrill will be lovingly remembered by her husband, children, and grandchildren for her boundless love, joyful spirit, steadfast faith in our Heavenly Father, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched.
