Thomas J. Powers, age 88 of Battle Creek, died Saturday, November 1, 2025, at The Oaks at Battle Creek. He was born July 26, 1937, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Forrest A. and Ethel L. (Edmunds) Powers. Mr. Powers was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School and following graduation served in the U.S. Navy. He went on to work at the Ralston Purina Company retiring in 1998 with over 35 years of service and was an active member of Local 66 AFGM, where he served as President for many years. He enjoyed family time, hunting, fishing and watching sports. On March 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Dianne L. (Robinson) Powers, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2023. He was also preceded by a son Michael Powers, three brothers: Arthur, Richard and Phillip Powers, sister Joyce Powers and his parents. He is survived by his sons: Thomas J. (Jean) Powers, Jr. of Buchanan, MI and Jeffrey (Debbie) Powers of Battle Creek; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister Marge (Harold) Yother of Battle Creek and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
