Wayne E. Tice, 93, of Battle Creek passed away Monday April 25, 2011 at The Oakes of NorthPointe Woods. He was born on September 11, 1917 in Battle Creek to Paul F. and Madge C. (Sprague) Tice.
Wayne married Elizabeth M. Vosburgh on September 28, 1940, she preceded him in death on May 31, 2006. His employment as a Project Engineer took him to Holland, Muskegon, and Whitehall, MI;  LaGrange, Prospect Heights, and Morris IL;   retiring in 1983 from Alumax Aluminum. They then moved to Hot Springs Village, AR.
He is survived by brothers, Paul (Doris) Tice, of Battle Creek, a sister, Theola M. (Clayton) Jones, of Battle Creek,  many special nieces and nephews; Patricia (Jerry) Roessler.  James (Nancy) Tice, Joy (Larry) Allen, Timothy (Bobbi) Tice, Karis (Doug) Halsne, Candice (John) Perkins, Debbie (Gary) Bennett, Robert Jones, and Sally Jones, sisters-in-law, Jean Vosburgh and Laurada Tice. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard E. Tice.
Wayne was a member of Lions International and attended Southside Bible Church. He enjoyed gardening, photography, golf, woodworking, and bird study. He was a lifelong researcher with Dr. Walkinshaw studying the Sandhill Crane and Blue Birds.
Family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1pm Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where services will be held 1pm Wednesday with Pastor Michael Brown of Southside Bible Church officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Baker Sanctuary, Lions Club, The Heritage, or Southside Bible Church.
