William “Bill” A. Williams known lovely as “Peanut Butter Willy”, age 84, of East Leroy, Michigan passed away on April 18, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 29, 1940, in Battle Creek, the son of Richard and Ruth (Hood) Williams. Bill was a lifelong resident and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1958. He was employed with Crooks Plumbing, Pipe Fitters Local 333 where he received his Master Plumber and Certified Welder Degree, a steamfitter for the Kellogg Company and foreman for Kellogg Headquarters where he was personally selected to be Forman by all the head honcho’s who requested the BEST! He retired in 2001. Bill’s hobbies included farming, restoring his dad’s 1936 BR John Deere, dune buggying, woodworking, traveling, free cell, parades/tractor/car shows, elf for Santa’s Helper and most importantly spending time with family. Bill was often referred to as a “Jack of all trades, there was nothing he could not figure out and do. Bill married the love of his life, Darlene Burgess on January 11, 1960, she survives. Also surviving are his children; Pam (Dale) Hursley of East Leroy, Scott (Jesamine) Williams of Battle Creek, Vicky (Shelly) Williams of East Leroy, Mike (Chris) Williams of East Leroy, grandchildren; Angie Williams, Amy Williams, Matthew Williams, Brandon Guthrie, Taylor Gray, Rex Burgess and nine great grandchildren; Kaylee, Leah, Tevin, Ava Lynn, Mavin, Emmett, Taylor, Noah and Reign. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Jean Ruhl, Janet Himebaugh and Eleanor McIntosh. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Santa’s Helper/Food Bank of SW Michigan.
