Barbara "Sharon" Dennis

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo. Sharon was born on October 19, 1942, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Bernard and Barbara (Wilson) Jettner, Jr.  She was a graduate of Lakeview High School.  On May 14, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Joseph Dennis. John preceded her in death in 2009. Sharon worked at Bill Knapp’s Commissary for many years as a Quality Assurance Specialist in both Battle Creek, Michigan and Sanford, Florida. In 2002, Sharon moved to Ashville, AL where she worked as a clerk for Pinedale Homeowners Association. Following the death of her husband, Sharon moved back to Battle Creek in 2012. She is survived by her children, Pat (Donna) Dennis of Springville, AL and Lori (Steve) Wesner of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Amanda (Bill) Kelly, Kalyn Gable (Jordan Tauilo), Tyler (Rebekah) Dennis, Matthew Dennis; 2 great-grandsons, Kainalo Tauilo and Vincent Kelly with another great-grandson expected in November; a brother, Bernard C. Jettner III; and her lifelong friend Nancy Burton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ann Armstrong of Battle Creek.  Sharon loved Nascar, county music, puzzles, and crime shows but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family who she loved unconditionally. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on June 9, at Memorial Park Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will take place at The Village at Ashton Lake Clubhouse located at 205 Ashton Lake Drive, Battle Creek following the graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the COPD Foundation or the American Cancer Society. www.henryfuneralhome.org
