James Hanke

Died Friday, August 14, 2020, at Bronson Battle Creek. James was born on August 26, 1954, in Battle Creek, the son of Rolland and Anna (Dennis) Hanke. He had been a lifelong resident of  the area and was a graduate of Harper Creek High School in 1972. He loved working on classic cars, enjoyed racing cars, going to car shows with his close friend Joe and was a “Jack of all Trades”. On August16, 1997, he was united in marriage to the former Cathy Jo Hewitt who preceded him in death in 2013. Surviving is his mother, Anna Hanke; a sister, Linda Hanke; step-children, Erin (Merik) Warren and Carrie Johnson; 3 grandchildren and mother-in-law, Joann Hewitt. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Central MI or a charity of one’s choice.
