Lois F. (Saxton) Neal

June 24, 1931 ~ April 28, 2021 (age 89)

Obituary

Died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Lakeview Assisted Living. Lois was born on June 24, 1931, in Battle Creek, to Loyal and Jean (Harris) Saxton. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1949. In 1949, Lois was united in marriage to Wilbur C. Neal, Jr.,  who preceded her in death in 2010. Together they enjoyed square dancing, pottery classes, RV travel and wintered in Florida for 16 years. They also built a home on Kirby Road where they enjoyed time with their family and grandchildren. In later years she enjoyed First Wesleyan Church, taking piano lessons and exercising at Burnham Brook. Surviving are her children, Stuart (Lynn) Neal and Suzanne Falcusan both of Battle Creek; 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; her brothers, Dr. Stephen (Patricia) Saxton of Cassopolis, MI and Michael (Sherry) Saxton of Jensen Beach, FL;  a sister, Nancy Clark of Niles, MI and special friend, Phyllis Stimson. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Neal ; her parents; sisters, Connie Wensloff and Suzanne Saxton; a special friend, Jean Morris. Lois was a loyal friend meeting with her 49er’s (fellow high school graduate friends) monthly for lunch and with Phyllis for groceries and lunch for most of her adult life. Lois and Bill loved camping and visiting with the Morris’s and they were lifelong friends. Lois was a wonderful hostess to her family and friends, and she loved preparing dinners, playing games and having tea time. In high school Lois worked at Gordons drugstore soda fountain and later in life at Sears.  In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice. The family wishes to thank Lakeview Assisted Living and Kindred Hospice for their care and support. Arrangements by the Richard A.
