Marlene L. (Yannone) Pape passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at Lakeview Senior Living after a long and colorful life at the age of 89.

Born September 21, 1932 in Niles, Ohio, Marlene graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1950 and married her life-long sweetheart Donald G. Pape in the summer of 1956. Don preceded her in death in April 2004. Marlene was also preceded in death by her daughter Gina Pape, her parents Anthony and Carmel Yannone, as well as her nephew and his family Danny, Neisha and Tyler Yannone.

Marlene is survived by her children Donna Pape of Battle Creek,MI, Michael Pape (Tamara) of Orlando,FL, Jeffery Pape of Battle Creek,MI, as well as her grandsons who called her Mamu, Nick Pape and Kyle Pape, daughter-in-law Tiffany Pape, and her grandchildren who called her Gram, Caleb Pape (Jen), Camryn (Doug) Harrington, Andrew (Mary Appleman) Pape, and Keegan (Clare) Pape. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, her brother Richard (Mary) Yannone of Youngstown, OH as well as many nieces and nephews.

She moved to Battle Creek, Michigan after her marriage to Don and quickly began to squeeze as much fun out of life that she possibly could. She and a group of friends played bridge together every month for over 50 years, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority for over 60 years, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for decades. She was known for her avid support of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school activities, for her love of bright and colorful clothing, the color purple, and infectious zest for life and having fun.

Marlene worked for many years at First of America Bank providing customer service, a job she was perfect for.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Lakeview Senior Living, Elara Caring and Hospice for the compassionate level of care they have provided. They would also like to sincerely express their gratitude to extended family, and friends who were like family to her, for all the love, support and wonderful memories created over the years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
