Bettie Frantz

Bettie “Lene” Frantz, age 83 of East Leroy, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center for their care and compassion to Bettie over these last several years. She was born August 25, 1939 in Smithville, Tennessee, the daughter of Emerson W. and Jewel T. (Adcock) Jones. Bettie was a graduate of Gull Lake High School and worked at the Kellogg Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1996. She bowled in numerous leagues in the Battle Creek area throughout the years and enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening. Bettie was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed knitting and crafts of all types. Her greatest passion was laughter – sitting with friends and family, telling stories to tickle any funny bone. Bettie had great escapades with dear friends Ann Frantz and Cheryl Goss. She is survived by her two daughters: Christina L. (Dan Shepherd) Frantz of Carroll, Ohio and Melinda L. (Hunter) Frantz-Dodge of East Leroy, Michigan; two grandchildren: Nicole Sheerer of Pasadena, Maryland and Matthew A. Sheerer of Battle Creek, Michigan; sister: Ann (Ray) Garrett of Battle Creek, Michigan; brother: Bill Jones of Smithville, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews, and former husband: David E. Frantz. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Geneva Jones. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm, with a Memorial Service immediately after at 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Richard A.
