Delores Claire Davis, of Battle Creek, also known as “Dee Dee” or “Fergie” passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 90 years.  She was born on September 18, 1930 to Stewart and Marian Ferguson.  Delores grew up in Battle Creek and graduated from Lakeview High School, where she met the love of her life, Richard Davis and they married on August 5, 1950.  They were blessed to have celebrated 70 years of marriage together.  Delores had many talents.  She enjoyed music, organ playing, exercising, breeding poodle puppies and Siamese cats,  as well as reading and camping.  She and her husband enjoyed camping for many years at Lake Michigan in South Haven at Singing Sands Campground.   She also enjoyed cooking and gardening, her passion however, was creative writing.  She wrote many fictional short stories, as well as twelve volumes of inspirational faith devotions called “Deeper Currents.”  Delores leaves behind her husband; Richard, her two daughters; Gail (Gary) James of Battle Creek, Lisa Emig-Moore of Battle Creek,  sister; Julia (Bill) Bennett of Grand Haven, MI.,  seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Delores was preceded in death by her parents.  Private services will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan, Samaritan’s Purse, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
