Gina Cornette

Gina Lee “Jona Lee” Cornette of Charlottesville, Virginia died September 18, 2021, with her daughter at her side in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Gina was born July 4, 1945, in Beckley, West Virginia, and Later moved to Charlottesville, Virginia in 1957. During this time, she raised three wonderful children and established a long career with Safeway grocery stories as an assistant manager, Sargeant Insurance Company, University of Virginia Eye Clinic, and Dr. Sara Kaltreider until she retired.  Gina remarried in 2009 to Earl Cornette, who she considered the most gentle, kind, and loving man that she had ever met. From 2009 until Earl’s death in 2016 where they resided in Battle Creek Michigan, they enjoyed life by being together, taking trips, and helping others in many capacities.  Gina was preceded in death by her parents Jonathan J Farrer and Mary G Farrer, and husbands, Tommy L Collins, John W Rea Jr. “Jaybird “, and most recently Earl Cornette. She is survived by her daughter Jamie Rea of Palmyra, VA, Sons: Tommy Farrer and wife Mary of Ruckersville, VA and Jonathan Rea and wife Suzanna of Waynesboro, VA; Granddaughters: Ashley Lam and husband Chris of Troy, VA, Elizabeth Ray of Palmyra, VA, Kelly Farrer of Dallas, Texas and Matthew Farrer of Fredericksburg Va. 6 great grandchildren, and sister Olivia Diane Sargeant of Charlottesville, Va., and her very loved and spoiled dog Maggie.  There will be no services.
