Howard Eddy

Howard R Eddy, “Part of the greatest Generation”, was born on March 9, 1925 in Flint, MI and passed on December 15, 2022. Howard was 97 years old. During WWII Howard served in the Army Air Corps as a transport pilot in the Pacific Theatre including the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Japan following the war. Recalled during the Korean War and served as Captain in Strategic Air Command. After training in Roswell, New Mexico Howard was stationed in Mildenhall in the U.K. Howard piloted a B-29 and B-50 Bomber carrying nuclear weapons. After working for the Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 39 years Howard retired in 1982 as a District Manager, Business Services for the southern division. He then owned and operated a printing business in Cape Coral, Florida until 1995. During his retirement Howard was a member of the Sundowners Flying and Rescue Club in Fort Myers, Florida. He also volunteered at Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. Howard was also a member of Downtown Detroit Management Club, Indian Guides of Lansing, Michigan, Power Squadrons of Lansing, Michigan, Air Force Association, and Knights of Columbus. Howard Eddy is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Donna Marie Keil, sons Keith, Bruce, Scott, and grandson Justin. Surviving family members are son Mark Eddy and his wife Jacquelyn, daughter Nicole Harmon, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren children. Howard was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. His devotion to his family was evident in his years of selfless love, hard work, and service to his family and country .
