James Dean

James D. Dean, age 65, of East Leroy, passed away September 7, 2021. He was born July 1, 1956, to Ina Mae (Bisel) Frank and Sherman Dean, Jr. He graduated from Portage Central High School in 1974 and received an associate degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He was employed by Eaton Corporation for 25 years as a technician. James loved to play guitar, write music, and fix guitars and old amplifiers. He also did sound and lighting for various bands. James was an antique and collectables dealer for more than 10 years. Surviving is his mother, Ina Frank; brothers: Ronald (Sue) Dean, George (Evette) Frank, Brendon (Shannon) Frank and Troy Frank; a stepbrother Marty Thomas; seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Sherman Dean.  A memorial service will be held at the Scotts United Methodist Church, 8458 Wallene Street, Scotts, MI on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow the service at the church.
