John Compton

John Wesley Compton, age 69, of Battle Creek, died Friday, November 19, 2021. John was born September 1, 1952, in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Oliver Wesley and Helen Teresa (Arnone) Compton. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1971 and retired from the City of Battle Creek. John liked to camp, fish, ride motorcycles and work around his house. He especially loved his family. On June 14, 1974, he married Marsha Kay (Dayton), who survives. John is also survived by two daughters: Ginger (DeQuan) Perry and Chrystal Compton; five grandchildren: Cierra (Dan) Blaskie, Dana Bottom, Sasha Bottom, Haley Luna and Damon (Emma) Luna; six great-grandchildren: Ava Kay Brown, Dontell Benwa Hardy, Jr., Levi John Blaskie, Lydia Renee Blaskie, Jackson Lohr Blaskie and Jacob Michael Blaskie; and his three dogs: Maggie, Daisey and Shelby. John was preceded in death by his parents and a baby sister Veronica. A private family service was held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by the Richard A.
