Julia "Judy" Wright

Julia “Judy” A. Wright, age 95, of Battle Creek, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Reflections Memory Care.  She was born on July 19, 1927 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Raymond C. and Lucille J. (Hicks) Weeks.  Judy was a lifelong area resident.  She graduated from Kellogg Consolidated School in 1944.  Judy previously worked at Allen Harmon Insurance, Level Park Dry Cleaners and in the “Snack Bar” at the Battle Creek Federal Center from which she retired after 15 years.  She was a member of the Randa Vista and Birthday Club.  Judy enjoyed square dancing with her husband, playing bridge, camping for vacation, word searches,  crossword puzzles, and most of all  spending time with her family and friends.  She was united in marriage on October 20, 1946, to Earl R. Wright, he preceded her in death on May 23, 2012.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister, Eunie L. Weeks, and a brother, Rodney Weeks.  Judy is survived by her children; Dale A. (Carolyn) Wright of Traverse City, MI., Dave E. (Helene) Wright of Union City, MI., Jeanette “Jan” A. (Randall) Labrecque of Battle Creek, brother, Roger (Peggy) Weeks of South Carolina, sister, Diane Vasquez of Nebraska, grandchildren; Michelle Laramore, Megan Blackmer, Tracie Wheeler, Brian Wright, Jeremy Andrews, Kyle Labrecque, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Funeral services scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2022, at the funeral home.  Private interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Miles for Memories or Pink Ribbon Riders of Calhoun County.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
