Marcelino Martinez Jr.

Marcelino “Marce” Martinez Jr. of Battle Creek, MI passed away on December 23, 2021 peacefully at home with family. He was born on July 4, 1961 in Saginaw, MI. He was raised by his mother Victoria Sanchez Burke and Stepfather Robert Earl Burke Sr. Marce moved to Battle Creek at the age of five. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1980. Marce worked for Community Hospital, Battle Creek Public Schools and he later went on to work for Consumers Concrete where he retired.

Once Marce retired, helping others was always in the forefront of his life. He stayed just as busy helping others as he did when he was working. He loved spending time with family and friends. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He also had a love for music. Marcelino had a bigger than life personality and people loved being around him.

He is survived by his mother; Victoria (Sanchez) Burke, daughters; Natasha Martinez, Marissa (Ryan) Cullitan, sisters; Christina Martinez, Evangelina Martinez Browne, Crystal (Kurt) Baumann, brothers; Victor Martinez and Robert E. Burke Jr., grandchildren; Maison Jenkins, Gaibrien Banks and Gabriella Miller and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Chiquita. Marcelino is preceded in death by father; Robert E. Burke Sr., son; Nicholas Martinez, grandparents; Manuel and Simona Sanchez, and best friend; Alejos Arriaga.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment to take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
