Margaret L. Nelson, age 87, of Battle Creek, passed away on February 7, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born on November 24, 1934 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Lindauer) McGee.  Margaret made her residence in Venice, Florida for 23 years before returning back to Battle Creek.  Margaret was a graduate of Marshall High School in 1951.  She was homemaker, and later went to work for Red Lobster for twelve years before retiring.  Margaret enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, deer hunting, traveling, and spending time with her family.  She was united in marriage to John E. Nelson, he preceded her in death in 2012.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, sisters; Diana Mullins and Eleanor Fifield, and a brother; Ralph McGee.  She is survived her children; William (Tina) Culp of Athens, Dawn (Gary) McMillon of Battle Creek, Deb (Ron) Strohm of Battle Creek, Daniel (Marijane) Nelson of Chelsea, MI., and Darla Nelson of Sherwood, MI., Seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  Margaret was laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery.   Memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Garrison Hills Wesleyan Church, 195 Bradley St., Battle Creek, MI.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at
