Robert Coy

Robert E. Coy Sr. passed away on December 8, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.  Robert was born on October 12, 1946 to Robert R. and Myrtle Coy in Battle Creek, Michigan.  As a young man, Bob attended Harper Creek High School and graduated in 1964. It was in high school that Robert met the love of his life, and future bride, Karla “Penny” Youngs.  They quickly fell in love, and on November 7, 1965 started their life together as husband and wife. With Penny by his side, Bob built their family home where over the years they would create memories that would last a lifetime. Together, Bob and Penny raised three cherished sons: Robert, Ted, and David. For 40 dedicated years, Bob worked at Eaton Corp in Battle Creek and later in Marshall where he retired in 2005 as a millwright. Those skills he learned and mastered allowed him to create, build, and fix nearly anything you put in front of him. And as the hardworking provider Bob was, he also raised pigs, chickens, and sold both hay and straw. In Bob’s younger years, you could find him racing (and many times winning!) his Chevy Biscayne at Onodaga and Martin Drag Ways in the mid 60’s. Bob will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know and love him.   Beloved father of Robert (Julie) Coy, Ted (Melisa) Coy, David (Kimberly) Coy; proud grandfather of Cassandra, Emily, Dylan, Taylor, Theodore, Alexander, and a great grandchild, Cameron Wheeler.   Bob reunites with his loving wife Penny, parents Robert and Myrtle Coy, grandson William Coy, and great-grandsons Dominic and Dorian Coy.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org
