Robert Bryan Pruitt, 65, of Battle Creek passed away at Glen Arbor Hospice on June 22, 2021. Bryan was born on August 3, 1955 in Battle Creek to Robert C and Mary L (O’Connell) Pruitt. Bryan graduated from St. Philip High School in 1973. He worked as a locomotive engineer for Grand Trunk Western Railroad which later became CN Railroad, retiring after 38 years of faithful service. On October 11, 2016 Bryan married Donna Sexton who survives. He is also survived by his sons, Shawn David Pruitt of Battle Creek and Zachary Allen (Beth) Pruitt of Vermontville, MI; three granddaughters, Harper, Zoey and Tatum; sister, Nancy Pruitt Redmond of Battle Creek and brother, Thomas (Julie) Pruitt of St. John’s, MI; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his son Jason in 2005 and an infant son, Bryan Sterling Pruitt in 1986. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life on August 1, 2021 from 1-4 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 19757 Capital Ave. N.E., Battle Creek.
