Ruth Loser

Ruth E. Loser age 86, of Battle Creek, passed away on October 21, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.  She was born on November 30, 1932 in Clinton County, Michigan, the daughter of Ralph and Florence (See) Cornell.  Ruth graduated in 1950 from Ovid High School.  She received her Practical Nursing Degree from Lansing Community College in 1965, then continued her nursing studies at Kellogg Community and Kellogg Valley Community College.  She previously worked as an LPN at Leila Hospital, Lakeview General Hospital, and several nursing homes in Battle Creek, Marshall and Charlotte.  Ruth enjoyed horses, dogs, cats, the outdoors, and caring for all her children.  She was united in marriage on March 7, 1970 to Francis “Frank” T. Loser, he preceded her in death August 9,1999.  Also preceding her in death  were her parents, son; Robert L. Smith, Brothers; Gilbert and Robert P. Cornell, sister; Thelma Plowman and four grandchildren.  She is survived by her children; Rita L. Thatcher of Indiana, Linda L. Burke of Westland MI, Ruth Ann Sanborn of Sheridan MI, Richard L. Smith,, Roger Smith, Robin L. Smith, Rex L. Smith, all of Battle Creek, sister; Gweneth J. Taite of St. Johns, step-children; John R. Loser of Kentucky, Mark S. Loser, Ralph (Dawn) Loser of Brick, NJ., Cynthia A. Loser, Paul “Tonya” Loser, Robert Andrew Loser, Timothy (Christine) Loser of Ann Arbor, and Gregory (Corlinda) Quinn of Idaho, several grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
