Thomas Peart

Thomas G. Peart, age 72, of Marshall, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at Marshall Nursing and Rehab. Thomas was born on June 25, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan the son of George W. and Doris E. (Spindler) Peart. Tom was a 1971 graduate of Michigan State University and a proud supporter of Spartan Athletics. He worked for Cargill for many years, specializing in animal nutrition until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a member of the Bois Club on Bois Blanc Island in Northern Michigan. Tom also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Marshall Country Club. He and his wife Diane loved spending time on Anna Marie Island with friends and international travel. Tom was united in marriage to the former Diane M. Jones on September 14, 1968, and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2021. He was also preceded by his parents and two sisters: Karen Peart and Suzanne Frost. Tom is survived by his two sons: Chad (Lisa) Peart of Leesburg, Indiana and Wes (Erin) Peart of Battle Creek, Michigan; three grandchildren: Jakob, Lou and Ossy Peart; three “adopted” grandchildren: Ryan, Zachary and Kyra of Cincinnati, Ohio; an “adopted” son Shawn (Jen) Pickett and their children, Dean, Cora, Wes and Reed of Rochester, Indiana, and one brother in law: Mark (Cheryl) Jones of Rochester Hills, Michigan; two nephews: Rob and Nick and two nieces: Katie and Ashley. Diane and Tom along with their sons, raised over 40 foster children. He was also involved with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program for many years. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Richard A.
