Battle Creek

Eric “Na” Jordon Amaro was born October 26, 1972, to Guadalupe (Amaro) and Manuel Sanchez Jr. of Marshall, Michigan. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 9, 2022, after a short illness. Eric is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Tiffiany, sisters: Dawn (Art) Sanchez-Ramirez, Tessa “lil honey” (Megan) Sanchez, brother, Troy (Janileth) Amaro, children: Shane Hammonds, Jordan Kelly, Tiria (Brandon) Martin, Ashton (Abbie) Amaro, and Kiana Amaro, and six grandchildren who are the lights of his life - Kerington, Hayden, Harrison, Abbigail, Olivander, and Silas. As well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and many cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his amazing parents Lupe and Manuel Sanchez Jr., brother Manuel Sanchez III, and cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents, friends, and pets.

Eric was an amazing artist and incredibly talented musician. His family will continue to cherish his characters, especially his “I Love Lupe” rendition of Lucille Ball he created for his mother. Eric’s love for blues music and the soulful sounds of the harmonica will live on in the hearts of the ones he loved for generations to come. Eric worked many years as a custodian at Marshall public schools before retiring and during his time there his artwork was displayed on the walls of the middle school, and he also created the logo for Pastrami Joes. Eric was well known for his wit and sense of humor that simultaneously elated and annoyed those around him which gave him great satisfaction. Some of his most favorite pastimes were “squozing heads with ma [Tiffiany]”, fishing and hunting with his sons, and grandson, cookouts with his kids and family, bringing the grandkids treats, and hosting impromptu jam sessions in his living room. Eric’s visitation will be held Friday June 17, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Avenue, S.W, Battle Creek. A private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Calhoun County Animal Center in honor of Eric’s love for his pets Simon, Beaker, Walter, Spike, Nibbler and Gracie. www.henryfuneralhome.org
