Joann Everest

JoAnn Everest, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Heritage Assisted Living. She was born January 17, 1929 in Benton, Illinois the daughter of Loren Delbert and Lola Aleen (Davis) Dugger. JoAnn had worked at Robinsons Department Store, Oliver Aviation, Baker Brothers Cleaners, Athens Veterinary Clinic and Lowe’s. She was a former member of the Athens Congregational Church and had attended First Church of the Nazarene. JoAnn enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts and camping, taught Sunday school, was a Webelo Scout leader and Camp Fire Girls leader. On January 22, 1948 she was married to Robert E. Everest who preceded her in death on March 29, 2011. She was also preceded by her parents and one son Brian E. Everest. JoAnn is survived by four children: Bryant (Linda) Everest, Crystal Yost, Brent Everest and Stacey (Paul) Tyler; two special grandchildren whom she raised, Jon (Liz) Jackson and April (Brock) Armstrong as well as ten other grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one brother Bud Dugger and several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Arrangements by the Richard A.
