John Remmler

John Karl Remmler, age 58 of Battle Creek and formerly of Portage, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022.  He was born November 4, 1963, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Karl Lee and Beverly Joyce (VanColen) Remmler. John grew up in Texas and California and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of California-Davis. He worked as Certified Public Accountant for many years, and then went on to Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and began a career as a mechanical engineer. He had a lifelong interest in aviation, golf, tennis and wood working. He also loved dogs including his beloved dog, Roscoe.  John is survived by his brother, David Remmler of Ann Arbor, his aunt, Robyn Shank of Elk Rapids, as well as several loved cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents. A vigil is planned for Saturday, August 20th at 3:00 p.m. at the grass circle/triangle located at the junction of South Lincoln Boulevard and Lincoln Hill Drive in Battle Creek.
