John B. West Jr., age 68, of Bedford Twp., passed away on February 22, 2020 at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1951 in Battle Creek, the son of John and Pauline West Sr. John was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He was previously employed as a journeyman for the Local 340 Iron Workers, Hi-Lex Corporation and a partner at Pro 1 Cycle in Battle Creek. John was a member of the American Riffle Association. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on his cars, hunting & fishing, traveling, cooking, playing guitar, working in his yard, constructing model airplanes and cars, and spending time with his family and beloved other son “Rocco”. He was very proud of his grandson; Devyn. John studied martial arts and had received his black belt in Aikido. He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother; Arthur LaFever, and granddaughter; Alicya West. Surviving are his daughter; Leslie West, son; John West, grandson; Devyn Brown, and special companion “Rocco”. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
