Robert S. Cutshall, age 80, of Kalamazoo, passed away on December 16, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Stanley and Ethel (Horrocks) Cutshall. Robert graduated from Redford High School in Detroit in 1958 then attended Wayne State University. Robert came to Battle Creek in 1975, then moved to Kalamazoo where he made his home. He was united in marriage on November 7, 1959 to Evelyn Cutshall at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Detroit. He previously managed Swedish Crucible Steel and Cleveland Alloy. In 1975, Robert started his own business, Omega Castings which he was active in day to day operations until his passing. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek, and St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Vicksburg. He was a member of the BC Chamber of Commerce, Battle Creek Unlimited, and retired from the BC-TIFA. Robert loved welding and metal work, and knew vast amounts of knowledge about anthropology, archaeology, and etymology. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Surviving are his sons; Bradley (Sheila) Cutshall of Galesburg, Brian (Kannigar) Cutshall of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Brett (Julie) Cutshall of Battle Creek, grandchildren; Emily, Lydia, Andrew, Lanna and Anya. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek, where a Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Father Christopher Ankley, Celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Jude Children Research Hospital or the Mayo Clinic.
