Taylor Mcmillon

Taylor Paige McMillon, age 33, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Thursday, June 9, 2022. She was born on September 19th, 1988, in Battle Creek, to Gary and Dawn (Nelson) McMillon. She lived in Battle Creek her whole life, graduating from Operation G.R.A.D. in 2006. She recently was employed at Dollar General, but she has been a hard worker since the age of 15 starting off at McDonald’s in Wattles Park. As a child she loved to play floor hockey with her sister Jenny and her brother Shane, but she possessed the most talent when it came to swimming. She enjoyed camping with her family and was a lucky fisherman who always baited her own hooks, and always took her own fish off the line. She was Summer’s most reliable and trusted babysitter, and she loved her friends and family’s little ones like they were her own. To Taylor, family was more important than anything. Taylor was strong and fearless with an infectious smile; she had an amazing laugh that could light up the room and she was a fun and loving mother to her two children. She was the proudest of her kids, always doting on her children and just the mention of her kids would make her smile proudly. She is now at peace with the love of her life, Al Spencer, who passed away tragically on July 8, 2020.  She is survived by her two children, her greatest accomplishments in life; Isaiah and Avayiah McMillon, her mother and father; Gary and Dawn McMillon of Battle Creek, sister; Heather (Patrick) McMillon of Lansing, sister; Summer McMillon of Battle Creek, sister Jennifer (Sam) McMillon of Lansing, and brother; Shane McMillon, of Battle Creek. Also surviving Taylor are twenty-five first cousins, nine aunts and uncles, and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her first cousins Darby and Desaney McMillon who also passed away in 2022, her grandma, Margaret Nelson who also passed in 2022, and her paternal Grandparents, John and Nellie McMillon. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Schwartz of Central Christian Church officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Taylor was the sole provider for her two children, getting help from her mother and father to be able to work even part time. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to the family in benefit of the children and to cover the cost of the funeral services.
