Willa Claywell

Willa Jean Claywell, age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away on October 25, 2020 at Medilodge of Marshall.  She was born on December 19, 1928 in Steuben County, Indiana, the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Musser) Nedele.  Willa graduated in 1947 from Metz High School in Freemont, Indiana.  She moved from Coldwater, MI., to Battle Creek in 1953.  Willa was united in marriage on May 29, 1953 to John H. Claywell, he preceded her in death in 1994.  She was employed as a phone operator by General Telephone Company in Coldwater for five years and as a secretary by I.P.I. in Battle Creek, from 1953 to 1968.  Willa enjoyed gardening, reading and travel.  She is survived by step-sons; Steven J. (Joanne) Claywell of Lakeland, FL., Robert D. (Lois) Claywell of Florence, AZ., six step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and ten step great-great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Funeral services are scheduled 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.  Memorial contributions in Willa’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
